Project Comeback: Level 2, Session 1

Unique information:  Starting October 1st.  Sign ups by invitation only.  Must be prior graduate of Project Comeback.

Exclusively for prior graduates of Project Comeback, this new 6-week course builds on the foundational knowledge and lessons learned in Level 1.  Participants are expected to attend all six courses, running each Sunday from 10 a.m. until noon.  Generally, each session follows the structure below.

• 10:00 to 10:15 Arrival and Mindfulness Practice
• 10:15 to 10:35 Classroom Instruction
• 10:35 to 10:50 Demonstration by PCB facilitator of equine skill
• 10:50 to 11:50 Individual Work Sessions with Instructor Guidance
• 11:50 to 12:00 pm Reflection and Wrap Up

Level 2 will continue to foster a deeper connection between horse and Veteran, with Veteran graduates from level one bringing the skills and knowledge they have already learned into this relationship. More advanced skills will be taught as Veterans share their time and patience with our equids to help them continue healing.  Project Comeback pairs Veterans with rescued horses in order to assist these horses reintegrate into the herd lifestyle.  While assisting these horses, Veterans learn lessons about their own reintegration into civilian life and discover tools that they may use in their own lives.
