ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY 

Assistive Technology is one of the many ways that people with disabilities can maintain equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their daily lives. Regardless of whether you or a family member have a developmental or acquired disability, either long- or short-term, these programs may add great value to your quality of life. Assistive technology programs offered through Easterseals Massachusetts are available to children and adults of all ages in Massachusetts.

AT in Your Home

Easterseals Independent Living Program offers services that provide assistive technology in the home with the goal of improving the ability of individuals with significant disabilities to live independently and safely. We also offer expert ergonomics evaluations/trainings, which are essential for preventing injury and disability working from home.

Assistive Technology Regional Center (ATRC)

Increase your independence at home, on the job, or in school by making informed decisions about the assistive technology that's right for you. This is a FREE resource to easily borrow or learn about hi and low tech equipment before making a financial investment. We offer device demonstrations and have an extensive inventory of devices to choose from. You decide your goals and outcomes; our experts just help bridge the gap to get you there!

Augmentative Communication Specialists (AAC)

Augmentative Communication Specialists work with adults and students with congenital or acquired disabilities who have difficulty using speech for communication.

Find what you need.  Donate what you are no longer using.

REquipment is a great way to obtain free, gently-used durable medical equipment (DME), such as wheelchairs, walkers, and more, in Massachusetts. Donated DME is sanitized, refurbished and made available in our inventory. Access to our equipment is easy, either online or by phone, and we provide pick up and delivery as needed (a small fee for delivery may be charged). Choose to reuse your DME!

This program provides access to zero & low interest loans for the purchase of assistive devices and services to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities.

Assistive Technology in School

Our AT and AAC experts help ensure that assistive technology, including iPads, apps, tablets, computers, dedicated speech generating devices, access equipment and low tech aids, will meet your students’ curriculum and Augmentative Communication needs. Our Schools staff consists of Speech-Language Pathologists and Assistive Technology Specialists, and they will work collaboratively with your school team to identify effective solutions and support the student in reaching their goals.
